Explore & Create: History of Sunderland

Tuesdays or Thursdays (during term time)

10am - 12.30pm

EXPLORE:  Go back in time to 674 AD with a visit to St. Peter's Church. Discover the story of Sunderland's Patron Saint, Benedict Biscop, and find out how he founded the first church in Sunderland and brought French glaziers to create the UK's first stained glass windows.   

CREATE:  Walk back to NGC along the River Wear before taking part in a creative stained glass window-inspired workshops:

Glass Fused Mosaic (£10 per student)

Glass Painting (£7 per student)
