An internationally celebrated day to encourage longer engagement, and encounters with art. Enjoy a leisurely, thoughtful day here at NGC with these special FREE activities.

FREE Events:

Join artist Simon Pope to hear about his work involving walking and memory, at 1pm.

A special screening of Michael Snow's film Wavelength at 3pm in the Media Centre Cinema, Sir Tom Cowie Campus at the University of Sunderland, St. Peter's (next to the National Glass Centre).

A family workshop creating artworks using light-sensitive paper exposed in the sun, from 10.30am - 12pm. (Booking is advisable as space is limited. Please call Reception on 0191 515 5555 to book.)

Slow Marathon, an AV Festival education film project created by young people from Sunderland, will be screening throughout the day in the Pod.
