Visitors to NGC might not realise that there are around thirty research students based in this building studying for Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degrees in glass and ceramics. These researchers from around the world form part of NGC's Institute for International Research in Glass (IIRG) and Ceramic Art Research Centre, University of Sunderland (CARCuos). This exhibition presents a cross section of work in progress to show how research into both techniques and ideas is informing new approaches to glass and ceramic art and design.
