This exhibition is the second in a series of three exhibitions presented by Sunderland Echo and National Glass Centre, which explore the stories and images of life in Sunderland over the last 70 years. Where Were You When…focuses on some of the key events for the people and the city of Sunderland, such as the construction of the Civic Centre in 1968 and the demolition of Sunderland Town Hall in 1971, to Frankie Vaughn’s performance at the Sunderland Empire in 1957, and David Bowie at Roker Park in 1987.
Where Were You When is part of a programme of exhibitions curated by NGC looking at the history, future and community of Sunderland.
All of the photographs exhibited are available to buy. A price list is available at Reception, or visit www.sunderlandecho.com.
