Beautifully Crafted fuses cultural histories and artisan techniques in works that reflect the patterns of everyday home life.  Contemporary art, craft and design are presented alongside objects made by amateur craftsmen, who supplemented their households with their own handicrafts, as well as historical artefacts that together, trace our national consumer culture through the 19th and 20th centuries.

Commercial production merges with the handmade, contemporary with the traditional and manmade with natural materials in artworks that emphasise a meticulous attention to making and consider the effect of time, environment and popular taste on our perception of objects.
