Fascinated by the sameness of the suburban semi-detached, Singer’s light boxes acknowledge the ways in which we attempt to personalise our living spaces. Flickering images are half-seen, fleetingly as she walked through the streets of Kazimierz in Krakow. Peering in through the windows into the lives of others, Singer juxtaposes the past with the present, using archive film, photography, glass and light to recreate ‘homes within homes’.
