The Institute for International Research in Glass (IIRG) was established in 1998 to promote and facilitate research in Glass at an international level. It aims to foster a wider public awareness of creative glass and to develop new knowledge relevant to contemporary glass practice. IIRG explores diverse means of disseminating that information through exhibitions, residencies, master classes, workshops, publications and projects to provide an interface between high level practice in glass and other artists, students and the public. An IIRG project, Gateway to Glass is an educational web based resource offering access to contemporary glass practice and research for everyone interested in Glass.
