IIRG utilizes its expertise in creative glass making alongside our excellent studio provision to support the development and production of new works for artists and designers.
This is usually a collaborative process where we support artists and designers to realize their ideas in glass. This often takes the form of short residencies where an individual works with an appropriate member of our team to research and realize a project in the studio. We also undertake direct commissions and projects. We often work with artists and Designers who are not glass specialists e.g. Bruce McClean (sculptor), Richard Slee (ceramist), Gijs Baker (jewellery designer), Catherine Byron AHRC Creative Fellow (Poetry) Nottingham University, and Emeritus Professor Conrad Atkinson, University of California.
