Update December 2012

From 1 Jauary 2013 the National Glass Centre will temporarily close to the public as its entire upper floor is re-modelled, with the addition of a brand new heritage gallery, upgraded education and resource rooms and improved teaching and learning facilities and significantly increased exhibition capacity.

The project is due for completion in Summer 2013 when the Centre will re-open to the public with a high profile launch event, the opening of three exhibitions of national significance and an ambitious community engagement programme.

You can sign up to our e-newsletter which will keep you updated on our progress each month or contact our Reception team about specific activities on 0191 515 5555.

We need you!

To help us plan for our new heritage gallery we need your help in learning more! Did you work in the glassmaking industry in Sunderland; what are your memories? Do you have photographs, films or other material relating to glassmakers or glassmaking in Sunderland? If so, we would like to hear from you.

Please contact Sarah Rothwell, Exhibitions Officer by e-mail: sarah.rothwell@nationalglasscentre.com or phone 0191 515 5544. We look forward to hearing from you.
