The National Glass Centre has been awarded £238,250  by Arts Council England from its Catalyst Arts: capacity building and match funding  programme.

Arts Council England received 353 applications to the scheme and made a total of 173 awards.

The National Glass Centre secured the full value of the grant requested and it is the single largest award from this programme made in the North East region.

The Catalyst Arts scheme aims to make arts organisations more sustainable, resilient and innovative by increasing their fundraising potential and attracting new money to invest in additional artistic work. It acts as challenge funding to support additional arts activity. Awards are made to organisations that are committed to making a step-change in their approach to fundraising by finding innovative ways to identify and make themselves more attractive to donors; and to make sure that donors want to keep on giving.

The National Glass Centre will be working with its partner gallery,  the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, on attracting support from private donors and trusts and foundations towards our ambitious exhibition and production programmes with artists.
