The National Glass Centre is an ideal starting point for discovering Sunderland's rich history and industrial heritage. It is located beside St. Peter's Church, one of the twin monastic sites of Wearmouth-Jarrow and home to the oldest stained glass made in the UK. Also close by is the Stadium of Light, Sunderland's football stadium; the seafront with fantastic stretches of beach; the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art; and Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, all within walking distance.

NGC offers an international programme of exhibitions; it is home to the UK's largest art glass making facility for kiln forming and offers free glassmaking demonstrations daily. Our Throwingstones Restaurant boasts stunning panoramic views of the River Wear and the NGC Shop sells the very best in UK contemporary glass, ceramics and jewellery.

See our Group Tour Packages guide for more information.

Maximum group number is 45.  A 25% deposit is required on booking. Visitors will need to use their own transport to visit other venues.
