Glass making is a fascinating and skillful process that combines the sciences of chemistry and physics with art and creativity. There are many different techniques involved in creating glass objects; glass blowing, glass moulding and slumping, sandcasting and flameworking to name a few. More information about techniques in glass making can be found on this page along with useful links.

Get involved and have a go at glass making with the National Glass Centre's courses and workshops by visiting our Learning page. For further education and higher education courses at the National Glass Centre, contact the University of Sunderland Department of Glass and Ceramics.
