Kevin Petrie
Kevin Petrie is Professor of Glass and Ceramics' and leads the academic team in Glass and Ceramics at the University of Sunderland, which is based in the National Glass Centre. Kevin studied Illustration at the University of Westminster and Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art. He holds a Ph.D. from the Centre for Fine Print Research, University of the West of England, Bristol. Kevin is perhaps best known for blending printmaking and glass/ceramics for creative use.
James Bustard
I studied History of Art at the University of Essex before completing a postgraduate Museum and Art Gallery Studies Diploma at the University of Manchester. A former exhibitions curator, art dealer and journalist during the 1980's I curated various exhibitions for the Scottish Arts Council; organised an expedition to the North Pole for the sculptor, Andy Goldsworthy, and worked in a freelance capacity for The Art Newspaper.
Dr Andrew Livinstone's Community Profile
My work uses a range of media which acknowledges the interface between both traditional practice and new media. Continued exploration aims to challenge and expand contemporary locations in respect of the traditional positioning of ceramics. The integration of digital media and new technologies has become central to my practice where new media is often positioned and juxtaposed with more traditional elements.
