Make your own glass bauble
Winner of the Gold Award for Best NE England Tourism Experience 2012, and original National Glass Centre hot-glass experience. Over 850 participants in 2012.
Blow a Bauble experiences will also run every weekend throughout November and December. Maximum of seven people per session. 99% of participants said they would recommend this experience to a friend.
These one hour experiences offer you, your family and friends the opportunity to personalise your bauble by applying coloured glass at over 1200 degrees centigrade. You will use a variety coloured glass ‘frits’ to create the basis your design. Working closely with one of the team members you will blow down the ‘iron’ & blow a bubble into the glass. The glass artists will finish your artwork by adding a glass hook to hang the bauble.
This workshop requires no previous experience and is suitable for ages 13+. Please note that under 16’s should be accompanied by an adult.
These workshops are suitable for most people, however if you have any questions or concerns regarding your suitability or safety then please contact the Glass Centre reception desk on 0191 515 5555 prior to booking and they will be able to answer any specific enquiries.
Completed items need time to cool down we recommended you leave at least four days before collection. If you are unable to collect please let us know and we can arrange to have your artwork posted to you.
