Glass Beats is a glass, ceramics and music project led by National Glass Centre. Twenty-five young people with additional needs have worked with artists to design and make their own percussion instruments from glass and ceramics. They then participated in music workshops, learning how to play their instruments individually and as a group.
The project will result in a performance by the young people, led by glass percussionist Brendan Murphy, and an exhibition of the instruments alongside the participant’s music recordings.
This project is funded by Youth Music. Throughout the project, nearly twenty of the young people have worked towards achieving their silver Arts Award.
