Learn to blow glass with Tim Shaw
3 day course / 11 - 13 July / 9.30 - 17.00 / £315 / Booking Essential
Delivered by international glass artist Tim Shaw and open to people new to glass or those with some experience, this three day course will concentrate on various glass making techniques.
Participants will learn about gathering, blocking, marvering, making paper weights, blowing baubles, attaching punties and basic colour application (powders and grains). Working in pairs, participants will develop their skills and create their own work to take away at the end of the Course.

Tim Shaw is a professional glass artist who exhibits both nationally and internationally. Tim has three degrees in glass blowing, his career spans over two decades and he was worked around the globe. He owns and operates his own hot glass studio situated in the Adelaide Hills. Tim's pleasure in working with glass is evident to the viewer. His desire is to bring joy into the lives of people through his art glass and to transmit his passion for light, colour and beauty.
I am an Israeli artist based in the UK working primarily in kiln cast glass.

I am Head of Enterprise, Commissioning and the Studio at National Glass Centre at the University of Sunderland, England and am a member of the Senior Management Team.
My practice is interdisciplinary combining drawing, sculpture and film.
My work uses a range of media which acknowledges the interface between both traditional practice and new media.
