Chris Blade - Arctic Circle

Photographic exhibition inspired by the Arctic

New photographic work by Chris Blade, inspired by an artists’ residency in Svalbard, a mountainous Arctic archipelago, just 10 degrees from the North Pole. The work explores the artist’s response to the scale and remoteness of the landscape. Irish sound artist and composer Dr. Karen Power, who also took part in the artists’ residency has composed a soundscape which will accompany the exhibition.

Chris has been invited as part of Climate Week 2014 to talk about his most recent expedition, to the high Arctic, and to present a selection of the images created over the years in some of the world’s most remote and unspoilt places.
